The Act provides a framework for spatial planning and land use management monitoring, co-ordination and review, and its policies, principles, norms and standards. It aims to address past spatial and regulatory imbalances, whilst providing for inclusive developmental, equitable and efficient spatial planning (Government of South Africa, 2013).
