In December 2020 Regulations for the mandatory display and submission of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for Buildings became law under the National Energy Act 2008. This means that EPCs are now required to be obtained and displayed in existing buildings. This legislation works alongside the National Building Regulations SANS 10400-XA 2021 which regulates energy efficiency in new buildings.
