Four municipal case studies highlight the potential effect small-scale embedded generation (SSEG) has on municipality revenue; drawing out the importance of modelling as part of tariff-setting, and presenting key lessons on tariff structures. The conclusion covers how revenue loss could be avoided by ensuring that tariffs are developed that account for the cost of supplying electricity to SSEG customers (SEA, 2018).
