This report shows that the levelised cost of producing renewable energy already competes favourably with the three main alternatives, namely coal, gas and nuclear, and that a broader renewable energy base would contribute to a more climate-resilient future and insulate South Africa from dependence on expensive and unreliable fuel sources priced in dollars.
