Lessons Learnt from the Urban Tran:SIT Programme (0.79mb)

This Update summarises the highlights of the Urban Tran:SIT programme and presents some of the key lessons learnt from the project over the last three years.

Energy, Climate Change and Transport (0.36mb)

The purpose of this booklet is to highlight the transport sector's impact on climate as well as it's dependence on fossil fuels.  We will discuss how a move towards sustainable transport and movement patterns which depend least on non-renewable and polluting energy sources can start addressing these impacts and the need for a drastic change in transport and land-use planning towards sustainable cities.

Introduction to Sustainable Transport (0.21mb)

This Tran:SIT Update looks at decreasing the demand for motorised transport of people as well as shifting demand from unfavourable modes of transport.

Making the Case for Public Transport (0.23mb)

This Tran:SIT Update looks at the environmental, social and economic benefits of a modal shift towards public transport.  It highlights financial and environmental savings that can be achieved with a 10% modal shift in favour of public transport.
